Excitement is building across Lagos State as preparations are underway for Lagos Youth Skills Day 2025, scheduled to take place on July 16, 2025, at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island. The event is part of a global initiative to promote youth empowerment through skills acquisition, with special focus on technical and vocational education.
Government Technical College (GTC) Odomola, Epe, will be among the featured institutions, showcasing student innovations in Electrical Works, Welding, ICT, Garment Making, and Agricultural Mechanics.
The event, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Education in collaboration with LASTVEB and several industry partners, will include
Panel discussions with policymakers and industry leaders
Speaking about the event, the Commissioner for Education stated:
“This day reminds us that skills are the new global currency for young people to succeed in today’s job market.”
GTC Odomola’s Principal, Mr. Akinwale Adeyemi, also expressed enthusiasm:
“Our students are ready to impress. Lagos Youth Skills Day is the perfect stage to showcase what technical education can achieve.”
