GOVERNMENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE, IKOTUN CROWNED NATIONAL CHAMPION AT 2025 WORLD ROBOT OLYMPIAD

Government Technical College, Ikotun has emerged as the 1st Place Winner in the Future Innovators Category at the prestigious 2025 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) National Competition, held on July 1, 2025, in Lagos.

This outstanding achievement brings great honour to the Board, and has earned GTC Ikotun a coveted spot among the institutions that will represent Nigeria at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2025 International Final in Singapore later this year.

The World Robot Olympiad is a global event that unites young talents from around the world to showcase creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through robotics. The 2025 edition featured entries from technical colleges and secondary schools across Nigeria, all presenting innovative solutions powered by robotics and emerging technologies.

The winning project from GTC Ikotun was led by a dedicated team of students; Izahben Goodluck, Samuel Divine, Olawoye Solomon, Nwankwo Goodness, Ayeni Victor, and other under the expert guidance of Mr. Olusupo, the project coordinator. Their innovative solution highlights the College’s strong focus on excellence in technical education and its commitment to nurturing problem-solvers for the future.

This national victory is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and ingenuity of the students and staff.
