MECHANICAL ENGINNERING CRAFT PRACTICE

Description

This programme is intended to produce competent craftsmen with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills which will enable the student to turn and fit or produce interchangeable parts of machines tools and equipment.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, students are able to:

·         To select, use and maintain all engineering hand and machine tools.

·         Work to close limit of measurement and fit.

·         Recognize the physical properties of engineering materials.

·         Produce and interpret working drawings.

·         Work on all the basic machines such as the lathe, shaper, planer, grinder and miller etc.

·         Produce components, test pieces and specimens.
