The Furniture Craft Practice program at Government Technical College (GTC) OdomolaE is a hands-on vocational course that focuses on the design, construction, and finishing of various furniture items. The course introduces students to both traditional carpentry methods and modern furniture production techniques using up-to-date tools and machines.

Key areas of study include:

·         Woodwork tools, materials, and safety procedures

·         Furniture design principles and sketching

·         Cutting, shaping, and joining wood components

·         Use of machines like circular saws, planers, and sanders

·         Upholstery techniques and basic interior furnishing

·         Surface preparation, painting, and varnishing

·         Project-based learning: making chairs, tables, cabinets, desks, etc.

·         Cost estimation and customer service in the furniture business

The course promotes creativity, precision, and craftsmanship while preparing students for job roles such as furniture makers, interior carpenters, or workshop supervisors.
