This programme is intended to produce competent vehicle mechanics with
sound theoretical knowledge who should be able to diagnose and carry out
repairs and/or maintenance on all types of diesel and petrol engines/vehicles.
OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course, students are able to:

Handle, use and maintain all
hand tools effectively.
·
Dismantle and re-assemble any
part of the standard vehicle such as the engine, clutch, gearbox, propeller
shaft, rear axle, fuel system, suspension, brakes, wheels, steering and
electrical system.

Diagnose faults and recommend
means of rectifying these faults.
·
Test and analyse the
performance of the vehicle after repairing.
·
Differentiate the similarities
between spark Ignition (S.I) and compression Ignition (C.) engines and effect
repair on each one.
