This programme is intended to produce competent craftsmen with sound
theoretical knowledge and practical skills which will enable the student to
weld, fabricate or construct objects which are necessary for engineering
production.
OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course, the students are able to:

various hand and machine tools relating to the course.

Carry out both arc and gas
welding processes effectively.

Carry out gas-burning cutting
effectively.

Select and work effectively on
ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Join, bend, fold and forge
effectively.
·
Determine and set correct
welding current.
·
Decide on the correct type of
welding method and correct type of welding joint suitable at all times.
·
Weld without defects
·
Produce welded structures and
heavy plate fabrication.
·
Handle oxy-acetylene blow-pipe
and filler rods effectively.
·
Produce various joints and
articles.
